CRP Racing is a full-service race shop for go karts, Spec Miata’s and Spec MX-5’s that has been around for about 20 years. John Grim, the owner and mechanic, has been working in motorsports for 20+ years with SCCA/SVRA/NASA as a head mechanic and crew chief, not including running his own race team at many go kart, SCCA and NASA events. Not only has he serviced vehicles in the 20 years, but he has also built cars such as Formula Atlantic race cars and vintage race cars. John has also worked as a head mechanic and crew chief for big race teams such as Nitro Motorsports in their TA2 and GR Cup program for the past few years.
In 2023 CRP Racing joined NASA/SCCA in Spec Miata with 3 team drivers that won driver of the year, most improved driver, Teen Mazda Championship, and 3rd/5th place in season points. 2024 will be the first time joining the Spec MX-5 program, where we hope to build more cars for drivers to help build the class. So far, we will be bringing 2 CRP built cars and 2 drivers to the roster this year. Future plans are to grow the business in Spec MX-5 and MX-5 cup, where our drivers will have an opportunity to grow in the motorsports industry.
