Wheels America Racing has been active since the 1990s, offering services in Spec Miata since 2002. The team was founded by Bob Stretch, who now runs the operation with the support of his partner, Chris Williams, and his son, Logan Stretch.
The team has a long history in SCCA Club Racing, World Challenge, and Trans Am, and has been involved with Miatas for over two decades. They employ a dedicated full-time staff who build and prepare cars at their shop for race weekends. In addition, they have a team of experienced mechanics who travel to events to support the drivers.
In 2025, Wheels America Racing will join the rapidly growing Spec MX-5 class (SMX) in the SCCA, aiming to support aspiring professional drivers looking to advance their careers. Since 2023, the team has had two Mazda Shootout scholarship winning drivers, Sally Mott (MX-5 Cup) and Vinnie Meskelis (Spec MX-5). Their focus is on providing club racing drivers with a professional arrive-and-drive experience, offering the necessary equipment, staff, and hospitality for success. They currently support all Southern Conference SCCA events, as well as SCCA Super Tour events outside the West Coast, and also attend various regional events based on driver requests.
